The Northern Sydney Institute offers in excess of 100 accredited English and vocational programs to international students. Completion of an accredited course may also give students a pathway to a university degree through our arrangements with a number of Australian universities.

The most popular courses at Crows Nest Campus among international students are the Certificate III in Children’s Services and Diploma of Children’s Services. Workplace learning is essential in these courses. Teachers will secure work placements and assist students in the organisation of workplace learning and associated workplace activities in line with TAFE NSW policy.
Building design, graphic design, digital media and information technology are the most popular courses among international students choosing Hornsby Campus as their preferred study location.
One of the largest TAFE campuses in Sydney, our Meadowbank Campus offers an extensive range of programs to international students. Meadowbank Campus is the Institute’s higher education campus delivering degree programs in information technology and accounting.
Specialist training facilities include the sports and fitness centre and massage therapy clinic. These have excellent facilities for aerobics, weight training and massage that give students access to real-world on-the-job training.
The Cisco Networking Academy located at Meadowbank Campus is a select Cisco Academy Training Centre (CATC) in Australia. Therefore, information technology courses are very popular at this Campus.
The TAFE English Language Centre (TELC) is also located at Meadowbank Campus and we produce award winning students.
This Campus is home to the multi-award winning training restaurant and bar, “The Pittwater” which gives hospitality and event management students hands-on experience in a working environment. The Community Health and Fitness Education Centre offers a dedicated learning space which encompasses the very latest in equipment and technology.
Ryde Campus is the largest hospitality-training centre in the Asia-Pacific region. Students train in commercially equipped kitchens, bars, cafés and the Ambassador Training Restaurant. Apart from this, the Ryde Campus has state-of-the art training facilities for the horticulture industry. This includes computerised glasshouses, landscape design studios, Rainforest Room, a full-size cricket pitch, golf green, tennis court and a bowling green.
The most popular courses among international students offered at the Ryde Campus are the hospitality management, commercial cookery, patisserie, tourism and events, horticulture, conservation and land management, landscape design, floristry and applied environmental management.
St Leonards Campus proves to be the favourite choice among international students who wish to study accounting, aged care, film and television, information technology and nursing (health services assistance).

A wide range of Diploma-to-Degree (D2D) programs allow students to graduate with two qualifications: a Northern Sydney Institute TAFE Diploma and a partner university Bachelor Degree. The Northern Sydney Institute also offers an Associate Degree and a range of Bachelor Degree programs, all featuring Australian work experience. On graduation from the Degree, international students may be eligible to apply for the Australian government’s post-study work visa.
